Sri Lanka
In late 2007, Earnshaw was invited to Sri Lanka to investigate the application of her recently developed "Culturally Appropriate Model of Sustainable Micro-Enterprise Development" (CAMSMED) to Tsunami affected communities.
Seenigama
Earnshaw visited The Foundation of Goodness in Seenigama, a coastal region in Southern Sri Lanka devastated in the 2004 Tsunami. (See Unconditional Compassion
for more information)
Whilst significant work had been undertaken to rebuild the community, specific marginalised groups are still facing social and economic exclusion. A number of projects using Earnshaw's CAMSMED model of micro-enterprise development were proposed to work with two high-risk groups
- The "Beach Boys"
- Socially excluded middle-aged males facing depression and substance dependence.
Whilst in Colombo Earnshaw met with:
- Entergrowth
, affiliated with the International Labour Organisation. - Sewalenka Enterprise Development Company (SEDCO)

- EML Consultants

Project briefs were identified with each of these organisations, identifying that the CAMSMED model could contribute to the development and empowerment of regional Sri Lanka.
