Industry Involvement
EXI's courses unfurl students' passions which they then commercialise. Concurrently, students build vocational skills and career pathways.
The Certificate II in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Skills is proving to be able to stream students into industry courses, traineeships and apprenticeships. For example, students who love fixing bikes can move into mechanics, metalwork and engineering. Clothing designers can move into textiles, graphics and design. Music and event management students have been streamed into courses such as audio and sound engineering.
EXI's enterprising students are more likely to succeed in industry as they have recognised that their career choice directly feeds their own passions and hobbies. Students have been skilled in recognising and evaluating opportunity, taking initiative and working autonomously.
Industry, attracted to the empirically-based methodology and accredited courses outcomes, was actively involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of the courses and training;
- EXI's pre-eminent executive Advisory Board includes John Singleton OA, Kevin Weldon AM and Ramin Marzbani
- The course accreditation process of the Australian Quality Training Framework mandates comprehensive industry consultation and collaboration to ensure that accredited courses are nationally recognised qualifications meeting industry needs. EXI achieved these mandates through establishing:
- The national Course Development Advisory Committee with key industry representation
- Industry research into course competency requirements
- Extensive national and international fieldwork undertaken during the company's and the charity's development
Certificates in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Skills can form the basis of collaborative partnerships with industry, for training delivered through industry-relevant projects.
